Privacy Policy

FireAlerter processes limited operational and account data so that on-call fire crew can sign in securely, receive watch alerts, acknowledge alerts on their device, and manage optional subscription and setup features.

Information we use

• Person number and display name.
• Service mobile number for first-device SMS verification.
• Device identifiers and push notification tokens to deliver alerts.
• Operational alert records, acknowledgement events, and trusted-device records.
• Subscription status, platform product identifiers, and purchase verification tokens when a user buys or restores a subscription through the App Store or Google Play.
• On Android only, optional Contacts access during setup so FireAlerter can check whether suggested FireAlerter contact numbers already exist on the device.

How we use it

• To authenticate users and verify first sign-in on a device.
• To send operational watch alerts and track receipt or acknowledgement.
• To maintain device trust, notification routing, diagnostics, and security logs.
• To verify paid subscriptions with Apple or Google Play and apply the correct FireAlerter plan to the user account.
• To check, on Android and only with permission, whether FireAlerter callback or escalation numbers are already saved in Contacts during setup. FireAlerter does not upload the user's address book to FireAlerter servers for this feature.

Permissions and device access

• Notifications are used to deliver operational alerts and related status updates.
• Contacts access on Android is optional and used only to improve setup by checking for existing FireAlerter-related contact entries on the device.
• FireAlerter does not use Android Contacts permission to read contact content for advertising, profiling, or sale.

Sharing

FireAlerter uses third-party infrastructure where needed to operate the service, including push notification delivery, SMS verification, and subscription purchase verification. Data is not sold.

Retention

Operational and account data is retained for service operation, alert history, subscription management, and security management for as long as reasonably necessary. Optional Android Contacts checks are performed on-device and are not retained by FireAlerter servers as an uploaded contacts dataset.

Your responsibility

FireAlerter is a supplementary alerting tool and must not be relied upon as the sole means of mobilisation or emergency notification.
